Explore dollmaking and let your creative spirit shine

Making a little doll can be the adventure of a lifetime. I made one 16 years ago for the first time and I haven't stopped.

FAQ

  • What size is the doll and is this suitable for children to play with?

You will make a doll 14" (36 cm) tall that is suitable for children 4+ (due to the long mohair that can get tangled in their little fingers). I can give you suggestions on how to make this as a safer doll for a slightly younger child.

  • Is the class self-paced or do you release it slowly over time?

You have access to all the content as soon as you enroll. You can then work on your lessons as your time and schedule allows.

  • Is the class in English?

Yes, all content is in English but I am already working on a Spanish version. Coming soon in early 2025.

  • How long do I have access to the class?

You will have access to your class content for 4 months. This should allow you plenty of time to make one or more dolls, go over the content a few times so you learn it well and make variations so you can nurture your creativity with wool and fabric.

  • Do I learn how to make doll clothes in this class?

Not included in this class, but I have a dressmaking course that will teach you to make clothing for this doll: starting with undergarments (undies, socks and an undershirt), bunny overalls, flannel pyjamas, a tiered dress, a summer outfit of top and shorts, a ruffled pinafore, a quilted jacket, ruffle boots, pants and shirt. Find it here in this doll making academy.

  • Can I ask you questions as I make this doll or am I on my own?

You can work on your doll at your own pace and any time you need help I am here to guide you and give you feedback. You can easily ask questions in each lesson and I reply to you there. You are also welcome to email me directly.

  • Do I get a list of ingredients and where to buy them?

There is a very detailed list of all ingredients, tools and supplies you will need to create the doll, as well as a directory of online suppliers so you can purchase anything you need.

  • Can I make dolls for sale from this class?

No. This class and all its content, including the doll pattern, is for private use only. No commercial sales nor distribution of any of its content.

Learn to make a simple, Waldorf inspired doll

Using this step-by-step online class that teaches you through clear videos, you can make your very own Waldorf-inspired doll. These dolls are wonderful to hold and they can inspire your little ones to the magical world of open-ended play, doing so with an all-natural doll that is gentle on our Earth and in your home. Over the years many people have used my Little Fig doll pattern to create their very first Waldorf-inspired doll, and now I have turned it into a class, with updated needle felting, hair and more sculpting involved. I hope you enjoy making this little doll!
